Where the Stars Go

where the stars go

feel like i'm Mrs. Rip Van Winkle,
slept away the years, lost my twinkle.
time to get off my ass
and go for it -
i tell myself,
show 'em what you got.

wish on a falling star,
become who you know you are.
run down the dirt road,
kick up the dust,
to the sunset sky
yea, that's where the stars go.

another bump in the road,
another turn i must take.
getting on the highway,
ready, left lane, let's go!

got a gas tank full of dreams -
no map. no limits. non-stop
one way track to where i should be
don't stop.

wish on a falling star,
become who you know you are.
run down the dirt road,
kick up the dust,
to the sunset sky
yea, that's where the stars go.

hit every pothole
at full speed.
just know, i gotta go, can't stay
ready to say, "i'm living the dream"
prayers answered, pressing on.
my foot on the pedal...
never let the dust settle.

wish on a falling star,
become who you know you are.
run down the dirt road,
kick up the dust,
to the sunset sky
yea, that's where the stars go.

the map isn't drawn
yet i know the direction
i'm going
yea, i'm going
going to show 'em
Lord, always knowing

time to get off my ass
and go for it -
i tell myself,
show 'em what you got
let your gifts show
go where the stars go

wish on a falling star,
become who you know you are.
run down the dirt road,
kick up the dust,
to the sunset sky
yea, that's where the stars go.
